Harvey's Christening

We had a lovely 'family and friends' day last Sunday, it was Harvey's Christening - and first birthday celebrations.
I didn't seem to be able to take a decent photo all day - never mind, here are some of them anyway.

He wore a really cute little Sailor Boy outfit.

Someone is getting a bit tired
Not just Harvey, Grandma was tired too, it was the day we changed the clocks, and I had been up for hours sorting out the food etc. Alice helped, so did Tom's parents - a real joint effort.

Lynda Monk vessel - at last

At last - a picture of my Lynda Monk vessel. Have to confess I did finish it a couple of weeks ago, just forgot to take a pic!

Have also finished my rockpool, now waiting for 'him down the shed' to finish the frame...

More from Patricia's Patchers

Patricia (for whom our group is named, she started it) came to see us last week, and she is still quilting. This is her latest.

Ena had been to a ribbon embroidery workshop

Catherine has made a quilt for 'Help for Heroes'. It is being raffled at a special fund raising evening at Tattersalls. Some of the green fabric was dyed at a workshop many years ago, she was glad to use it at last!

We have made a small start on a 'group quilt', all blue squares, for the victims of the Chernobyl  fiasco - 25 years on and they are still suffering and in need of our help.

Gina Ferrari Workshop

Attended a really good Gina Ferrari workshop today with the 4S ladies, entitled Shimmering Sheers. We made, and mostly, finished a dinky little gift bag. The technique can also be used to make a cushion, book cover, panel for larger bag etc

We also made the flowers to go on the bags, plus some other samples, and I made a small start on a bracelet. I now have the horrible task of putting away all the bits and pieces, I ALWAYS take far more than I need...
I will need to type my notes up pretty soon too, or else I shall forget what we did!

Here is a slightly better picture

Christmas 2010

Harvey's first christmas, and he loved it.

Here's one of him looking like a mini Santa

The next few are the sack I made for him

The pressies are only a few of the dozens Harvey had to open, Alice was far more excited than he was! LOL Note there are not many baubles on the bottom of the tree...

Now I can get back into my sewing area (the empty Christmas decoration boxes were in there) I must get it tidied up, and then start some serious designing and stitching.
I treated myself to a lovely new colour laser printer just after Christmas, well I had to beat the VAT increase, didn't I. I have already printed off my Workshop of the Web workshops, can't wait to get started on some of them also. I have lots of ideas for printing on fabric. Also ordered a new graphics programme, which should help me.
